Hot Dy in Mid-Winter OOTD

Hi to whoever is reading this :)
This is just a short OOTD as I am going out for lunch with my  Mum.

I'm sorry for the terrible photographs but here it goes! In New Zealand it is strangely warm for this time of year so I rustled up a mid-winter out fit suitable for the warm weather. My Jacket is from Jayjays, which I where nearly everyday. I chose it because it is a nice light fabric while still having a wintery colour and the huge pockets meant I didn't have to carry a bag. My crop top is just one my mum picked up in Bangkok years ago, I liked that it was tight in contrast to my shapeless jacket. The dress I picked up from Topshop. It is one of my favorite dresses I own, the maroon looked like a good winter colour while being a short dress would still keep me cool. My socks I picked up in Ballantynes and I liked the preppy look they gave the outfit while adding abit of warmth. I put my hair up in a high pony, firstly as it was quite a mess when I woke up, but also as getting my hair away from my face really cleaned the look up. With this I wore simple makeup as i was just popping out however to touch it up I wore gold cat eye liner which gave it a boho feel which I really enjoyed.

June OOTD -Casual weekend look

Here in New Zealand we've recently had our first day of winter its goodbye to short summer dresses that warm my heart and hello to dark colours and extra layers. This look was one I put together incredibly quickly for a trip down to the local op shop (thrift shop).

Excuse my screwed up face, the concentration got to me!
I was already wearing the black skinny jeans (from Jayjays), which I wore to work and couldn't be bothered getting changed out of them so they were the base of the outfit. Then I threw on my thrifted Indonesia T-Shirt. I love this T-shirt for its colour, as it's a stone grey which means it always fits with my dark colour scheme but doesn't mean I am wearing fully black, something I have to refrain from letting myself do! I have never been to Indonesia which gives, for me, a sense of mystery to the shirt as I would love to visit one day. Its still relatively warm at the moment so I chucked on my thin cargo jacket (also from Jayjays), which I wear constantly. I liked the jacket for this outfit as I wanted to keep it minimal and the huge pockets mean I didn't have to carry a bag, it also added abit of colour to the outfit. Over the top of the T-shirt I wore my statement necklace made of ultra shiny gold roman coins that drop from a mint green chord (from Topshop). I thought the necklace added another dimension with the metallic gold and it dressed up an effectively simple outfit.
Any ways, I hope your having a  good weekend:)

Skeleton Leggins OOTD

This is just going to be a quick OOTD :) So here we go!

The Leggings which is the main reason I wanted to do this post, arrived yesterday from an online shop called Romwe. It says on the website that they are priced at $30 us dollars but I must have bought them while on sale as I have an inkling I payed something in $20's. I am really happy with them as they are such a statement piece and they are quite good quality and the best thing yet they are long enough for me ( I realise it doesnt look like in in the photo below but they were just bunched up so you can see my sexy socks;) )! Something you need to know about me is I am a UK 4-6 and 5'9", don't worry I eat as much as I like and what I like. So I don't want to hear about it. But this makes finding leggings, skinny jeans or even dresses impossible because by the time a garment is small enough for me they are far too short. I've had alot of stick from my family for these leggings but I personally love them!

I paired these with:
my I heart Billy Blaster boots which I have repurchased twice! as they are just a stapel that I pair with basically everything!
a sleeveless top from Denim Co. which was given to me as a present years ago, I used this because altough arguably I could have worn something alot plainer I wanted something floaty and nice to tuck in while still haveing some structure which is the only shirt that I have that gives that
and a hoodie from the men's section in  Cotton On because it makes the outfit alot more casual for just hanging round the house in:)
On my lips I have NYX Pinky nude which is not nude at all but instead a gorgeous raspberry.

Thanks Alice xx

My Nail Polish Collection

Disclaimer: I am not showing off or anything I'm purely sharing a collection with mine as I am fond and very excited by it as a few I had for Christmas and most I want to display on my mantel piece. I just hope you enjoy it like I enjoy reading about other peoples and like getting ideas:)

So I haven't blogged for quite a while! so I decided to start off with something simple to ease me back into it, so lets just jump in!

So I'll start from the left in the picture above, This is a very old Revlon that Mum handed down to me quite a while ago. Its called blackest black which surprised me because it has blue shimmer through it which should excite you alot apart from the fact that you can only see it once its on your nails if you have them a millimeter away from your face! it has a terrible brush and requires four coats which is quite an effort. I still put up with it alas seeing as its the only black I have and please don't let this deter you from buying other Revlon nail polishes as I'm sure they have improved immensely since my Mum purchased this!

Left: unnamed Right: Revlon Blackest Black

The nail polish on the left in the photo above is one I bought in a $2 shop (like Pound Land in the U.K.) years ago for a fancy dress party, I haven't a clue what I was dressing up as!? how ever a few months ago I wanted to wear my black nail polish but just wished that the shimmer showed up which was when I remembered this beauty! I would never wear it on its own personally but over the black it looks like a galaxy on your nail which, lets face it, you couldn't ask for more! and its not a bad quality polish, it dries really quickly and it was $2!

The white is also from the $2 shop and personally I would never wear it by itself but I bought it just before Christmas so I could do the following over the red I'll talk about next.

Now I know their not great especially the ones on my left hand (the bottom photo) but I had a lot of fun doing it and it got me into the festive spirit!

The red is Australis Valentine which is just your bog standard not great but not awful nail polish that you continually put on your toes. Not much to sat there sorry!

 Australis Valentine

Now this next one is a 'copy' of an O.P.I. nail polish which I forget the name of. Please don't comment abuse about supporting illegal people or whatever because in my opinion whats the difference in buying the same colour  but in just a different looking bottle from Pound Land? Anyways my friend bought this for  me when she visited Cambodia and when she gave it to me she said I was going to give you a sparkly black one (harhar) but instead I felt the need to give you a normal nail polish! I haven't tried so I don't know about the quality but I do quite like the colour! Sorry by the way for having so many obscure 'brands'!

Now, all the rest are REAL O.P.I nail polishes so are are all up to a standard I think is amazing! they all dry super quickly and are very chip-resistant!

I Don't Give A Rotterdam is a periwinkle blue with silver shimmer all through it. It was part of the Holland collection and in my eyes a beautiful colour.

O.P.I. I Don't Give A Rotterdam

The rest are part of the James Bond collection. The Spy Who Loved Me is a fire engine red with gold flecks of small glitter and shimmer (there is a difference!). I love to wear this when I'm chanelling Mila Kunis or someone equally as sensual.

O.P.I  The Spy Who Loved Me

The World Is Not Enough is and entrancing nail polish that changes colour in every different light. Its solid shimmer that looks any of the following: silver, gold, pink, green, blue. Really its an all in one! It goes great with khaki which is very in in New Zealand at the moment and I'm pretty sure it was in England in Autumn??

O.P.I. The World Is Not Enough

And the very last! O.P.I.'s Leave and Let Die which up until a few minutes before I shone a flash light on it (it had fallen down the back of my bed) I thought was a bottle green however now I realize is a murky darkish blue with gold shimmer! I did realise it had the gold shimmer in before just for the record!

O.P.I. Live And Let Die

Well I hope you enjoyed that and sorry it was so long! xx

Alice's Top Twelve!

I set off to do the Top ten taggy thingy inspired by Tiyana's Top Ten video which was featured on Sprinkle of Glitter's Youtube channel however I couldn't narrow it down to just Ten! I don't know how she did it! I thought this would be a good second blog post because I thought it would be a good way for you to learn a bit more about me. By the way these are not in order, packing it down to Twelve was too much of a decision let alone putting them in order! (as you can tell I'm an awful decision maker!) So here we go! *said in Super Mario accent* name that reference.

1) My Notebook.

This notebook was given to me by my Mum and Dad for Christmas a few years ago. Nobody has ever seen whats inside the notebook but I can tell you this... I write stories I make up in it and draw pictures and all those creative release-y things. I'm proud of the things that are inside and it has all different patterns on the pages which makes me smile. The notebook is from KikiK and I just love the freedom I feel when I enter anything into it, Its the only time when I dont feel I have to get things right the first time I do them because NOBODY'S GOING TO SEE IT!

2) My Mobile.

Apologies for it being sideways, I don't know how to flip it yet! I love my phone because its new, easy to text on because it has the qwerty key pad, it displays texts as conversations, it has an awesome camera, I can get apps and I can connect to the internet on it! I just loves it!

3) Twenty Boy Summer.

Apologies again for the sidewaysness. This book by Sarah Ockler is my favorite book of all time. It's sweet, funny, sad and everything in between. I've read it countless times and I'm still in love. It's told by a girl, Anna, whose best friend's brother dies however Frankie, the best friend, doesn't know that Anna and her big brother, Matt, were 'romantically involved' (whoo big words there!) and the secret becomes harder to keep when Anna goes on a holiday with Frankie to Zanzibar bay, where Frankie used to go with Matt up to when he died. To find out what happens you'll have to read the book!

4) My Cambodia Picture.

I bought This picture on my recent school trip to Cambodia. I love all the expressive brush work and the scene just melts heart. When I look at this I think of all the memories that I collected there and all the lessons I learnt. I am a HUGE art person, especially painting, so I love to study the texture and colour in the piece. I just think it's amazing.

5) My Laptop.

Yes it's red. I know. I've been told many a time! I love surfing the net, watching Youtube videos, it stores all my pictures and with the help of all the social media sites I've signed up to I can keep in touch with my friends overseas!

6)

Sidewaysness. Sorry. I bought this bag from Primark for 3 pounds! It used to have an incredibly over sized handle protruding out of the top of the bag however I picked it off, it looked like a chiwawa wearing one of those over sized vet cone collars. I love how small and cute this bag is. I think the chain and padlock make it look a bit blingy which I like. and it is just big enough to hold my mobile, eftpos card and a lipgloss!

7) Stolen Girlfriends Ring.

My Mum and Dad gave this to me for Christmas last year. It means alot because my brother got given a silver ring for his 18th birthday and this is my version, he never takes his off, unfortunately I have to take mine off for school but apart from that I wear it all the time too. I will treasure this ring forever because my parents gave it to me.

8) My 'Alice' Bracelet

I'm talking about the bracelet in the middle, the one that says Alice haha. One if my best friends gave this to me when she returned from a trip to Bahli. She had one that her dad had given her when he went and I adored it so she bought one for me which was lovely. I never take this off, I hide it up my sleeve at school hehe. Again I will treasure this forever.

9). Velvet Dress.

I bought this dress from Glassons recently, which I think is an Australian brand. As you can see it's black velvet with lace around the collar and sleeve. The back is exposed which I like and its quite short but the high neck line and long sleeves for me saves it from being slutty. I like that it covers my shoulders because 1) it keeps me warmer than all my other dresses and 2) When I have straps it emphasises the fact that I slump my shoulders which is not attractive.

10) Blue Jacket

This photo does not do the jacket any favors. I love this jacket because its nice and warm, I love the cape effect it has and it hides the fact that I don't have boobs ;P I bought it from H&M in a mad scurry because I didn't have a jacket for the winter. It looks good over a dress or jeans and it looks super cute paired with boots!

11) My 'Friends' Necklace

Normally I think these sorts of necklaces are really tacky but my oldest and bestest friend gave it to me so I haven't taken it off since. This necklace has immense sentimental value so that is why I loves it :)

12) 'Revolving Mascara'

You may be thinking "what on earth does she mean by a 'revolving mascara'?" well boys and girls! I only mean the best mascara ever! My Mum bought this from Japan for me because I'm abit of a mascara enthusiast!nthe switch you can see on the lid on the wand makes the brush turn one way and then you can flick the switch to the other end and the brush turns the opposite way. This mascara is so easy to use, it gives good length, excellent volume and amazing definition. It leaves your lashes looking dark and fearthery and it last for ages! By the way! It's Bourjois Fast and Perfect mascara which you can find HERE.

I'm sorry this blog post has been so overdue! I will try to update it more often, maybe once a week? I hope you enjoyed this and thanks for reading!

The Day I Popped My Blogspot Cherry

Hi There,

I'm Alice. I'm 15 years old (16 in 6 days!). I live in New Zealand (that small place at the bottom of the world where Primark, Topshop, and Wetzles Pretzles doesn't exist). I'm not sure what this blog is going to be yet. All I know is, this blog is for me. You are more than welcome to pop in and out of my world but if you don't like it just click the little red X in the corner. I'll tell you a bit about myself, then mabey you'll get an idea whether you want to read on. I love Art, I take painting and Art History at school, I cant stress to you enough how important art is to me. I also like make up and fashion. I'm quite new to make up so if you want to learn with me then jump on board! Odviously, I'm not new to fashion, I haven't been a nudist for the last 15 years of my life;P However I am currently changing up my style abit. Incase you haven't realised I am an awful speller. I know this and if your grammer freak then you might want to exit now. Some bloggers that I absolutely love and would love for them to see this blog are Mrs. Louis Sprinkleofgillter http://sprinkleofglitter.blogspot.co.uk/, She is my favourite youtuber, see is so bubbley, lovely and the funniest person I've ever not met, She's my role model and she has taught me to have confidence. The second blogger that I love is Jade of http://jadeyylicious.blogspot.co.uk , She has so much optimism and I feel like I can really relate to her because (i think) she is around the same age as me and we seem to like the same things. Thanks for getting this far! Alice
